By process of default, this grocery store is the best one to shop at if you live in the area and go to school nearby. But do not be baffled by the ratings and recommendation; it only won by default. Sure, there are many employees who work here that are nice and get the job done but then there are a couple rude employees who give an attitude and do not help you or do their job. I can list names but that is not necessary just know you will probably come across some workers there who are very nice and helping and then you will run into others who do not really care at all about you and wont help.

This Ralph's is a must for any UCSD student. The store is very big, so you have a lot of products to choose from. Also, they always have promotions going on, so groceries don't need to be expensive! In addition, if you get the ralphs rewards card, you can get 10 cents off of Shell gas for every 100 ralphs rewards points. Even a little bit helps right? Also, once you fill up the Shell gas, they actually credit your account with an additional 200 ralphs rewards points! Don't forget to keep an eye out in your email inbox when they send the monthly specials. for example, buy 2 pasta sauces and get 50 extra reward points. It's a great system!

Ralphs is the other place that college students usually flock to when they need to meet their grocery needs. Ralphs recently just remodeled their interior and now it is humongous. You would think that this is good because there is more selection and more products to choose from, however, I feel like Ralphs is too big and it's hard to find what you really want. It's hard for me to decide what to buy when there is such a big selection. Another thing that isn't so good is that there are always so many people here that it's hard to get in and out quick if you are in a rush. One good thing is that there are self check outs, so you can wait in a shorter line to check out your items yourself. I don't know if the prices at Ralphs are any better than Vons or Trader Joe's. Ralphs' parking lot also sucks a lot, whoever designed it did not do a good job.

In conclusion, if you like having a variety of choices, then Ralphs is the place for you, but as for me, I'd prefer going somewhere else that is easy to navigate and easy to get in and out of.

I used to go to Ralphs a lot since it was the closest large grocery store to my apartment. However after having been overcharged too many times in a row, I stopped going there for anything but the stuff I can't get at other stores. I recommend Trader Joe's next door, or drive a little further to Henry's. Not only do the tellers not have a good handle on the PLU codes for the produce, the prices for sale items often come up wrong and it is a big hassle to try to get it corrected after you have gone home. If you do go there, try the self checkout and check your receipt before you leave the store.
