I was surprised to find such a well done museum in a small town like Manitowoc. Interesting painting collection, and the old mansion section was interesting as well, though eclectic (chinese porcelains in one room, scrimshaw in another, etc.) It was free as well.‎

Don't let the name fool you! The Rahr West is more than just an art museum. Many of the displays are in a historic victorian home filled with antiques and relics of days gone by. Many of their displays vary from year to year and with the season, so you can go every year and expect to see some different items each time. In addition to art pieces, look for things like antique furniture, dolls, dishes, and more!
