Cabinetry
Going through a local company in Reno, I was told that a partnered business offered the cherry cabinets I was seeking for very reasonable prices, with great craftsmanship, soft close doors included etc. "Too good to be true" did come to mind but I ignored instinct for what I thought was good advice from a very reputable business man. This man turned out to be very inept, not measuring my cabinets correctly, lying to me, botching the order and ducking my calls.
I waited over 4 months for my cabinets to come and then they were the wrong size. I waited another two months and what I got was cabinets sent with NO sufficient packing material. They were scratched and to top it off, warped and splitting at the corners. They would not hang right and then began to shrink, splitting. I got yet ANOTHER order. The owner, Wayne Purdy was initially helpful absorbing these cost but I had to pay labor costs TWICE because of the substandard cabinets. Now here I am, with my 3rd set of doors, once again shrinking and all around the faces you can see the wood beneath the stain..bright nearly white lines on my cherry cabinets all the way around my cabinet faces. I still have some warped drawers and things don't come together quite right leaving gaps. Wayne was going to order me all new doors AGAIN, with his apologies..yet here I was going to have to pay even MORE labor. Well, this was MONTHS ago..and I still have NO cabinet doors and people asking about these horrible cabinets in a beautiful home. I am disheartened and disgusted with this experience. I blame myself for trying to save some money and not trusting my gut but I believe this company is responsible. I'm sure I'm not the only one to have such an experience and hope nobody else goes through it.
