I have worked for Dr. Powers for years, and I have never met a more caring person. His level of commitment to patients is second to none! He takes care of all of his staff members both in and out of the office and creates a fun and exciting atmosphere! We have a great team, and we are always looking for new team members to join. It has been several years since I saw a dentist. I have a strong phobia to dentists in general and when I moved out of the Summerville area I just didn't go. As you might guess, I have reached a crisis with my teeth and have to go now. The first thought I had was to drive back to Summmerville to find Dr. Powers. He is the only dentist who managed to fill cavities without hurting me. He is friendly and warm in his personality and a consumate professional. I was looking up his phone number when I found this review page and had to respond. I can't say I am looking forward to going to the dentist, but I am not afraid of it. I'm a new patient and from my first phone call I was treated with respect, priority and true professionalism. Shawna was awesome and treated me like a life long friend. Donna took the time to explain "everything", held me by the hand so to speak. I hate going to the dentist "phobia", I apologize because I can't remember the names of everyone who helped me relax, comforted and explained every second of the procedure. I had a cracked tooth, Dr. Powers extracted it, explained everything and I have no pain. They treated me better than I have ever been treated by any dentist. I will and look forward to returning.‎

I have been a patient of Dr Powers for 4 yrs now. And have always been treated with dignity and respect. I have never once heard him yelling at anyone or being mean to a customer. Every time I see him he is always in a good mood and even the employees are in a good mood. Of course everyone will have their own opinion. But from my experience there I would not change them for the world. I used to be scared of all dentists which is funny cause my grandfather is a dentist. His staff and him are so comforting and take any worry out of my mind every time I am there. To see for yourself, just go in as a new patient exam it's free (and you don't have to have a coupon!! Just a thought for anyone looking for a sincere dentist, he sure takes good care of you.‎

Where should i begin? Dr. Powers is incapable of learning of how treat people with some dignity and respect. I have witinessed this grown man screaming at his employees in front of patients on numerous occasions. Wayne wrote that "the billing office staff seemed incapable of understanding simple concepts." Well simply put, they're not employed long enough to get the necessary training for certain tasks because they quit or get fired. Mainly due to his unablity to treat another human being. Rumor has it this man does not even offer medical beneifts to his staff. Would you work for someone, or be a patient of someone, who regularly acts as a child, and only cares about getting paid rather than your well being. You do the math. I wish I could have left the rating blank but it seems not to offer that option.‎
