Loved it. Can't believe I've never been until now.
It took me exactly 30 minutes to get to Bernardo Winery from La Jolla, which is about how long it takes me to get to Cardiff. So, it's not that far or out of the way. I am so beside myself that I haven't been here before. I even took my 4 year old with me on a Friday morning to take a tour and check out the Farmer's Market, which they have every Friday from 9am-noon. Also happening that morning was a cute kids show in a little theatre area near the Farmer's Market.
This place is way more than a winery, it's a little village. You could tell that some people have been coming here for coffee and to hang out for years. Which makes sense, since it's been around since 1889. The buildings have a ton of personality and the landscaping is gorgeous. There's a little spa, cafe, handbag shop, photographer, and of course a tasting room. The wines are good and $8 per 5 tastes which is way less than Temecula.
For those of you who like to shop locally, consider this place for your wines or just come hang out. It's kid and pet friendly.
