As the "mother" of two elderly dogs (13 and 12), I'm always on the prowl for a good vet. Having just moved to SD, and with one of my pups having a history of health problems, I needed a solid vet. I started with PAH, simply because it was less than a mile from home. I couldn't be happier. Dr Metcalf is wonderful. She always calls to check in on my little guy after a visit, and when he had an emergency situation, she immediately referred us to the critical care hospital, and called them to tell them to expect us. The entire staff is wonderful, and they TRULY care about your pet!

We went to this vet after they were recommended, however not strongly, by a family member. We were disappointed not only by the quality of service but also by the high cost of the visit and treatment. It seemed that the vet we saw did little to address our dog's condition and did many other things in order to bill for a full exam. Further, when it came time to get a prescription filled (which we usually do from an online company) the vet was unwilling to fill the prescription and was not the least bit helpful. We are new to the area and have not found a good local vet but I would suggest caution before choosing this one.‎

Poway Animal Hospital has a very caring, compassionate, and well trained staff.

...We have a beautiful little puppy that we were not going to entrust to anyone, so researched several animal clinics/hospitals, and found Poway Animal Hospital exceptional. When I called around to get her first vet check, they did one for free! (everyone else wanted $45+) I thought that was very reasonable in itself because the first check doesn't involve much but a quick assessment. We recently had our puppy spayed, and she also had some teeth pulled simultaneously, and we had a wonderful experience with no complications. Everyone in the office is extremely helpful and kind. Dr. George is very patient and very thorough when explaining procedures/care options, and obviously LOVES animals. He is joyful and caring. I am a Registered Nurse, so I am very in tune to bedside manner, and your pet is sure to get great care here~thank you!‎

I moved to Poway about 14 months ago, and some one at work recommended this clinic to me. I have to say that I am very glad I found this vet. Especially Dr. Metcalf, she is very caring has given my cats the best care possible. One of the best things about Dr. Metcalf is she seems to know where to send us when the problem is out of her area of expertise.‎
