I am a heath care provider for about 29 years. The service is exemplary at The Post Op Recovery Place. Every aspect of my recovery was attended to. Physically and emotionally they were there every step of the way. Hospitals discharge people now much more quickly due to their costs. I felt uneasy about going home and The Post Op Recovery Place gave me the care and time to decide when I was ready. I received kindness and respect. Thanks to Gwen Mancuso and staff.

unless you have undergone surgery previously, you have no idea how you will feel and perform immediately afterwards. most people think they'll sleep for a little while and go back to doing whatever it is they do. how wrong this is! i was relatively new to San Francisco when i underwent surgery. with no immediate family around, i didn't feel i could rely on my friends to take care of me. believe me - you wont want your friends/family to necessarily see you in your post-op state, and they won't always know what to do for you. your doctors want you to heal in the best way possible. this requires pure uninterrupted rest and following directions. no caring for other family or pets , phones or other worries. it's so worth having a "home" to go to, with 24hr attention. gwen will follow the dr. instructions for you, administer your meds on time, check in on you during the night, prop you up or lay you down and keep the ice paks cold! this alone was worth it. forget it if you think you can reach into the fridge to lift and carry the ice packs around. if you've already saved and planned for surgery, add in a few more $$ to stay with gwen. beyond picking the right doctor for yourself, it's the smartest thing you can do!

I would most certainly recommend The Post Op Recovery Place to anyone undergoing surgery and needing care in the San Francisco area. I felt completely relaxed from the moment I stepped foot inside the gorgeous house, and was greeted with a warm hug from Gwen Mancuso. Gwen has created lovely rooms providing privacy and comfort but is also always there to chat and giggle with you when you need a lift. Gwen's positive attitude and caring nature helped me heal during my first few days after surgery and has remained a positive, caring person in my life. She really is an angel!

Gwen Mancuso is an angel! The service provided by her and her staff is a blessing. Being new to the area and single with two small children, Gwen took me under her wing and treated me with truly loving care. As this was my third procedure (first one in CA) my Doctor recommended her services. Im so glad she did! Gwen took exceptional care of me, cleaning me up as needed, ensuring I had my meds, appropriate nutrition, and treated me like I was family-with loving care! She even called afterwards to see how I was, If I needed anything-and even asked about my children! I highly recommend this service to anyone going through cosmetic surgery as you will never feel alone. Additionally, any fears or concerns you may have will be professionally addressed reducing your post op anxiety. She helped with so many different aspects of healing-all I can say is she is an angel and you will want her by your side during your recovery!
