Portuguese
I haven't tried their Portuguese items yet, only the Brazilian items on the menu. They are pretty good. I would probably just go to Brazil the Bay, but that's not their main thing. I am definitely going back for some Bacalhau soon. I did go there to watch soccer games and for Festa Junina a couple times. Pretty cool to hang out at.

very intimate
i don't see why the local art scene doesn't utilize this place for events. its PERFECT for live shows. i first came here when i got introduced to spoken word poetry, and then agian for their open mic. it really doesn't seem like it ever gets crowded there. it really is a nice place. its "classy" dim-lit with candles, and has a stage at the end of the room.

maybe management should try to promote some parties or book bigger acts or something...because its a shame to let such a good venue go to waste.

also....they have a very nice selection of beer and wine. the pizza i bummed off my friends who got their early was delicious. and i ate something else there, forgot what its called [i like to order things i've never heard of, or are hard to pronounce] was very appetizing.

open mic tuesdays
This review is only for the Open Mic Night (Tuesdays)

Some of my friends wanted to participate in the free open mic night so I came out to support. Overall, it's an okay place. The restaurant set up is intimate and nice. The open mic performances was just ambient music as we just talked and my friends to go on. There's a range of music, but it seemed like the primary outlet that night was acoustic. Also grabbed a $4 beer on tap, which isn't so bad. My friend also ordered a pizza and was apparently waiting awhile for it...which may say something about their service. I tried the pizza too...not bad but I've had better. Overall I thought everything was just alright.

Love it
the food here is fantastic, I've been going here for years. I read some of the other reviews and can tell you that yes, the food does take time. They make everything fresh from scratch (no canned sauces even the hot sauce and salad dressing are home made). The portions are generous, YOU WILL NOT LEAVE HUNGRY!! The reason the pizza can take a while is because they only have 2 ovens so if there are pizza's ahead of you, yes, it will be a little while but in my opinion it's worth the wait. My advice? If you go really hungry get somethign quick like the cheese and marinated olive plate to hold you over until the food is ready-you will not be disappointed! And for those of you with special dietary restriction, they have gluten free pizza that is reasonably priced and delicious :)

not the best experience
I went to this restaurant, I don't feel that I was treated well by the buss boy and waitress. They were rude when we asked for specific foods. Seemed to be more interested in watching TV in bar then assisting customers. I did like the set up in the restaurant, was quiet, romantic setting. They did not have the food my boyfriend ordered, which was fine.We understood that this type of thing happens here and there. The owner even came out and apologized and offered something else. We let him know it was ok, we would just do the pizza and share. I sent the owner an email from the link off his website to give feedback and suggestions and he sent me a not so nice reply. The whole situation did not make me and my boyfriend feel welcome. In my email I even complimented the owner on the linguica that was on the pizza. Instead of taking the suggestions he became offended that I emailed him with my suggestions and concerns. I don't consider this professional at all, and isn't very ...
