Left me lingering for more!
4.5 Stars. I would've given it a perfect score if not for the fact that they jipped my a guava-cheese strudel but charged me for it :(.

But lets just get right down to the point. This place is dang awesome. I came here for the baked goods and left with several boxes and an emptier wallet.

THE FOOD:
I'll let my friend Maria tell you whether she enjoyed the pastries I got for her but for me, the stand out was the deep fried mashed potato meat filled balls... those in itself were delicious! A bit on the expensive side for sucha small portion but nonetheless.
*I'm lactose intolerant but still took a chance with the cheese rolls/puffs. YUMMO! WOWZA... just a little microwave action and it was still awesome!.
*The caramel eclairs were decadent as the caramel was light
*The apple strudel/pasty puff was out of this world delicious. I spotted it right when they put it in the window.

To me those were the stand outs... I also purchased: apple turnover and empanada, macaroon and a chocolate chip muffin. All delicious but didn't blow my mind as the aforementioned.

So when it comes down to it... heres what you gotta know, its crazy, lines can get a bit annoying and long but the pastries (if you choose the right ones) are decadent in their own way. AND THEY'RE CHEAP which makes it all the more worth it!!!! I just wish they had one in San Diego!

Couple of observations by Izzy Q. at InsiderPages
I am a long time Porto's fan, I don't mind the long drive. However, this year I've had 2 bad experiences.
1) Hard and un-biteable fruit tort crust. I had to drive back the next day to exchange for a different type of cake all together.
2) I bought a cake for my sister's birthday, she is a merengue nut, but when we brought it home we noticed the cake was all bread and a very very thin layer of icing, that in some areas revealed the bread. I am just afraid that the quality is flying out the window !!!
