Excellent & Caring Practice
We have used Dr Elmer's services for 15 years. He's a great vet and runs a great practice. We board our dog with him when out of town.

Personally, I recommend PAH
We have been using PAH for 6 years now and we've never had a bad experience. The entire staff and Dr. are very caring and gentle. When one of our dogs had to be put to sleep, they were very understanding of our loss and even sent us a sympathy card a few days later. When my pom got bit by a copper head, they were able to take me immediately! They've seen all four of our dogs and like I said, we've been very satisfied. As for the charges, they were actually less than at our previous vet when we lived in Kingwood. I also like that their office is always clean. I'm sorry to those of you who had a bad experience. I can only tell you that personally, my experience has been great.

Wonderful vet
I also have a very hard time believing anything bad about Dr. Elmer and I flat out refuse to believe that he ever "punched" a dog in the face. I don't know who told you that, lady, but they're lying to you. I also don't buy that you were over charged.

We took our lab to see Dr. Elmer about a cyst on her tail. Our normal vet wanted to cut off her tail and charge us a grand to do it. We didn't see any reason to cut off her whole tail and we sure weren't going to pay a thousand bucks to maim our healthy young lab.

We took her to Dr. Elmer and he not only charged us a ton less (I believe it was around $200), he removed only the cyst.

We dumped our high price vet and took all our dogs to Dr. Elmer up until we moved back to Austin. Yeah, the other vet was less than two blocks from our house, but Dr. Elmer was a much better vet. If Porter weren't 200 miles from where we live now, I'd still take my dogs to see him.

Great Service.
I disagree with the bad review that was written. I was not there to verify her experience, but I have been going to Dr.Elmer for years now and have never had a bad experience when I've taken my dog there. He's very thorough and patient when handling my dog, which is an english bulldog. I live in Spring and it makes it hard for me to go to Porter all the time but I have never had a bad experience when I do make the trek out there. I can not believe that Dr.Elmer would porpusely hurt any dog. As for the staff, they have always been cortiouse and responsive to any questions that I may ask. I highley recomend Porter Animal Hospital to anyone that lives in that area.

DO NOT GO TO THIS VET
My experience of this vet has been terrible, unprofessional and overpriced. I was not there personally, but someone there witnessed my dog being punched in the face by Dr Elmer, the vet, in order to subdue my pet during her immunizations. My dog is docile, and was skittish, NOT aggressive, during the immunizations. I would suggest trying other vets in the area, such as Big Thicket in Cleveland. Beyond the poor service, the services are generally overpriced in comparison to other vets.
