I was lucky enough to take a tour of the Polinsky Center a couple of weeks ago. It moved me to tears! Run strictly on donations. They strive to help and find homes for all the children who have been sent to them.

The Polinsky Center is the best facility I've ever seen for kids that otherwise would be on the streets and homeless. When kids are taken from their homes -- whatever the reason -- they need a place to feel safe and taken care of. Polinsky Center does that and the caring staff and volunteers go above and beyond to help these children find foster and adoptive families that will love them and care for them.

Well I am what 16, I went there twice, I never really like that structure of the residence. The youth there are very troubled, as I have seen in 07 and 08; my point being is that the staff cannot control them. Well now I reside in a group home San Pasqual Academy, great opportunities! I have so much to say though about its flaws, it is not perfect and it can be better. It's the youth and some of the structures fault. Balance is needed. Foster system is indeed unique and can become a conflict with biological families.‎

polinsky is a place for children that have no other options at that point in there life. i was placed in polinsky two time and both times i was there a little over two months and within those two months i met people and had experiences that i will never forget. There are great people that work there and there is also people that are there do get their monthly salary, well that my opinion. But polinsky does provide a safe environment for the children and provides lot of activities for them. i would say that the number one issue with the children that go to polinsky would be their frustration and not knowing on how to deal with their frustration. and think that polinsky is a place and can help provide those kids with the tool to learn how to deal with there frustration so that the won't make a mistake because of their "frustration" and end up getting into lot of trouble. i would like to thank the people that help me while i was living at polinsky: coach drew, mrs. ann, mr. ...
