This place is good but definitely too pricy for a fish market! I don't mind paying for extraordinary food but this place was over the top. The fish is good and I have a professional chef at home who knows how to cook seafood, it's his specialty. The selection they offer is very large and the volume of people that are always there indicates there are no return customer issues. I have no qualms about the quality but there are other places you can frequent with the same or even better quality and not so inflated prices. I would start with the farmers market, which is typically expensive too. Bottom line is be prepared to spend some cash on your fish!

This place is an icon in San Diego and is finally going to get a facelift in 2010! If you want your guests to experience old fashioned fun - you can bring them here to watch the boats come in with the catch of the day. You can order great sandwiches to eat outside - my favorites are the fried clams and the calamari - delicious. They also have fresh seafood available for sale - so pick some up to take home. I don't know if they have changed how they take orders, but the one downside when I was there is that you have to fight your way to the front of the line to place an order. They have 4-5 people behind the counter at any given time, so you do get served - but sometimes you may stand there for a while trying to figure it all out if you are new - so charge right in!

An excellent establishment. Unique and refreshing

Very definitely a good place to go. Quality, quanity and freshness are great. They have daily special so you can try different things. Nice atmosphere around the marina. For a midwest person this is the palce to go!

I met my dad for lunch during the week here. Amazing. the fish is the freshest you can find anywhere. Prices are right. People come from all over the county to purchase their fish here. Instead of going to a fancy seafood restaurant, come here, order a customizable filet/cut of your favorite fish and suprise your significant other with a couple candles and world class fish dinner at home! They'll even marinate or flavor it for you and give you tips on cooking! Not a fancy place to dine in, but the fish can't be beat. Great for picnic spot on a warm day and overlooks the bay.
