AVOID. Needless costly testing by Kirsten S. at InsiderPages
I recently spent nearly $1000 at this clinic for absolutely nothing. The vet seemed inexperienced, jumped to conclusions and seemed utterly disinterested in hearing my observations about my pet. She ran a lot of expensive, unrelated and unnecessary tests. I feel bad about having put my dog through all of that when he was already in a lot of pain. It's a racket, as far as I can make out.

Kind Care
Dr. Reese was quite professional and also kind to my cat. I brought him in for intestinal problems with no certain cause and he was treated both in hospital and in the kennel with medication. The several technicians that I saw most often were very gentle with him and took good care of him. He had an IV in his leg for 2 days and a lampshade on as well.

I recommend visiting your animal every day he/she is in for medical care - you should advocate for your animal and bring food and special bedding or brushes and toys that make him feel more comfortable. Check his conditions and ask questions. These folks were very easy to work with.

When I picked him up he was all cleaned up and even his pet dome bed had been washed. Everything was returned to me and they helped me out. The following weekday, one of the technicians called to check on him. Since I had followup questions, this was very timely and much appreciated.

Of course the cost of care was shocking but their fee structure is in line with other vets. However, their facility is very clean, modern and is well staffed. They are open every day so it is possible to speak to a vet on the weekend, although it may not be the same vet.

Most importantly to me, my cat was not traumatized by his care there. Some vets and vet staff are rough and impatient with animals. When I visited him at Pocket he was unhappy to be in a cage but at peace with his surroundings. By the time I picked him up he was in good spirits and excited to be going home.

I hope he doesn't need more than a check-up and shots ever again, but for that and any other medical care, I would take him back to Pocket again and recommend them to others.

DO NOT GO THERE!!!! BEWARE!!!!! by Jen T. at InsiderPages
I was visiting my boyfriend's family for the first time, and my little yorkshire terrier was being a little devil. Unfortunately, it was Memorial Day weekend and the options for boarding were very limited. I was happy to find that Pocket Pets Animal Clinic would take Lola (usually very well behaved) for the following 2 days, since I didn't have any records with me, and it was Memorial Day weekend (my vet was closed so couldn't fax over) Lola had to do some shots and I agreed to them. I even double checked with them to NOT place Lola near sick dogs or puppies for fear of her getting sick. They informed me that they will not, with smiles, of course.

The PROBLEMS occurred after I brought Lola home. (Immediately) There was coughing and lethargy. She seemed a bit confused. I took her to the doctor the following week and was given anti-inflammatory meds.. the cough would get better then worse. My vet did not know what was going on and a month later gave Lola some antibiotics. They didn't help. Nothing helps. Her cough has become a LOUD HACKING cough with an extra AAAAK! at the end, (sounds like trying to hack out some mucus)

I am very angry with this POOR excuse of an animal hospital in turning my vivacious healthy 2 yr. old yorkie into a chronic hacking cougher. It is sad and I am concerned... it has been 2 months. I am at my wit's end and am looking for a new vet. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE. This is a sure warning for any who are considering... please don't jeapordize your healthy pup. Look for a vet with good backing... not convenience.

HUMMMM
Well lets see, I have been going to this clinic for YEARS, Dr. Jones is fantastic, I use to also see Dr. Surbida when she was there, and Dr. Kendall a few years back, but in the last couple years the front staff support has gone to the Dogs!!! There use to be a girl there by the name of Debi, a very mature person and a wealth of information, and another very friendly girl by the name of Michelle, I remember there names because I use to talk to them alot when I would come in with one of my many, many dogs. They both left suddendly, I heard due to poor management on the owners part--but anyway they were fantastic also, and the place has not seemed to recover since, as far as the front staff goes---Dr. Jones is still my favorite, very compassionate and truly a great person---so if you can manage to get thru the front staff you will lenjoy Dr. Jones care.

Do Not Take Your Pet To This Clinic
I took my dog to this clinic on more than one occassion because it is conveniently located in the Pocket Area. Dr. Lisa Jones not only recommended expensive and unnecessary testing on more than one occassion, she performed surgery on my dog that turned out to be unnecessary as well. Dr. Jones failed to keep me informed during the ordeal, and did not offer any option other than surgery.

After this occurred, I spoke with several neighbors and friends about the treatment my dog received, and was informed that they had similar experiences. In my opinion, you should avoid this clinic at all costs. Their turnover of doctors is extremely high, and their staff, while friendly, is uninformed and, in my opinion, unprofessional.
