I'd have to say this is an average Pacific Beach bar. Probably great if you are 21 - 29 but usually really loud and rowdy. Can be fun for guys night but not really for date night. They usually have good service but in general I'd say the place is average across the board

I don't think anyone would argue that Plum Crazy is the greatest bar in PB, but it is always a good fallback spot. If you are too drunk or too broke to go anywhere else, Plum will welcome you with welcome arms. The drinks are cheap and the clientele are inebriated. You may have to deal with the occasional belligerent frat boy or the half-conscious floozy falling on her face, but the place is generally friendly. It's often my last stop after a long night of bar hopping.

This place hardly does any business during the week, but miraculously fills up during the weekend nights, or when the eagles are in town. I am always surprised that this place hasn't taken their shingle down as they can be completely empty with crowds and lines at the neighboring bars. They don't have a kitchen and don't really offer much, but if you stop in on a Tuesday you can pretty much sit where you like and get the bartender all to yourself. It is not nearly as inviting as many of the other PB bars, and there is no hook to get you to come back, but if you want a place to go chill out amidst the rest of the PB shenanigans, Plum Crazy will be there for you, that is unless it is a Friday/Saturday night.

Big beers, foosball and a crowded bar, it's PB's finest and hardly ever a line

Yes, this bar is cheap for its great location. However, friendly service isn't quite their niche. Being from Philly ourselves, A friend and I wandered into this quaint little "Eagles" bar on Garnet expecting a fun atmosphere and a good drink. However, we sat at the bar for about 15 minutes before even being acknowledged by the female bartender. She filled up the tall pint glass halfway and walked away without collecting our money or our cards, ID. There's a good chance that she herself wasn't lost on the Saturday night festivities. She through my friend her half eaten wrap, saying "Try that, it's terrible," while spitting it out onto the ground. So we finished our beer and were ready for another but the bouncer suddenly ended that thought. He came up from behind us and asked us for our stools. I asked for a reason and he said something along the lines of, "if a fight breaks out." Confused, I asked him what that meant and his reply was, ...
