Fine program
This preschool curriculum is play-based, which means they use play to teach. An example everyone knows is the old ABC song. Play is the best way to keep the kids that age focused. The day is a mix of structured play and free play. After 2 years at PF, our child was deemed ready for kindergarten according to the school district tests in April before public kindergarten began in Sept., so PF must be doing something right. The teachers and kids have been nice. The teachers are all experienced pros. It's a great place for a preschooler to learn socialization in a gentle group setting with nice playmates from decent families.

Good experience for our child
Our child has had a very good experience at Playfactory. There were no problems with teacher inattention that we experienced. Diaper training went well and our child came home with dry pants after the upgrade. (Some parents with problem kids will blame everything on the teachers no matter what school.) Most of the other children are nice and our child made friends here and made a lot of progress at socialization. The teachers were nice and dedicated and knew what they were doing professionally. It was indicative of good teacher attention that every time our child got a bump or scrape, we got a note describing what happened which matched our child's account of what happened. Playfactory maintains a good teacher to student ratio and they seem able to keep on top of the situation in the classroom. We especially liked the teachers Marilyn and Beverly. There was a short waiting list but it wasn't too long when we applied, just a few weeks as I recall. Based on our own experience, we would recommend Playfactory.

be cautious
Yes, upon meeting the teachers, sitting in on classes and talking to the director, Playfactory shows fairly well. Be cautious. My child attended for two years and was bounced up to the next class so fast our head spun. This was all to make room for children in the younger classes, not because my child was ready. Before being potty trained, our child was regularly picked up still in the same pull up we had put on in the morning, soiled and soggy. When our child began to show a significant and negative change in behavior, we received a lot of lip service from the staff regarding the cruel treatment our child received from other children in the school. Emma the chef is wonderful, as well as the teachers Marilyn and Tabassum. This school has its hands full, and needs to reevaluate its program.

Excellent and our child loves it
Except for the beginning separation anxiety, which Playfactory staff helped us with a lot, our child genuinely enjoys going here. The other kids and parents are nice. Playfactory teaches but tries to make learning fun, e.g. with stories, games, art projects, and songs, and they do a good job of that. The kids spend part of their time doing guided projects and activities, part of their time doing whatever they want inside the classroom, and part of the time playing outside. PF has a great outdoor play area with a big fancy climbing structure, plastic play houses, scooters etc. for the pavement, and a big sand area with beach toys. Great place to burn off energy. The teachers have child education degrees. They always pay close attention to the kids to correct behavior and help them behave and develop socially (we didn't always see that at other preschools). Breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack are included in tuition, which is convenient. There are several nice field trips each year, and the kids learn some songs to put on cute little holiday shows for the parents. (Santa visits the Christmas show.) The school provides an outdoor easter egg hunt, and an on-site costumed Halloween trick-or-treating experience with the help of parent volunteers.
