A great lunch special
This place has a lunch special that is 6 bucks for a slice and a salad and a drink. It puts subway to shame i love it the salad is huge to i usually can't finish it!
I'm not even getting started on their beers because those are also delicious. two huge thumbs up for my experience here!

Epic beer, good pizza
OK, the beer is second to none on this planet, but people do need to eat, so focusing on the food:

The pizza is very good. No, it's not Ray's, and it's not done in a brick oven, so it can't be great, but they do an excellent job given those limitations (not Rays, no bricks). Their toppings are generous and they are creative with both the toppings they offer and the crust options (def get the beer crust).

Their salads are large and are decent, but they put a ton of cheese on many of them, so you might want to ask them to go easy in that department.

They're typically very busy, and it's a smaller location than Carlsbad (the best location) so be prepared for some volume and some concerns about seating.
The outside seating is 3 feet away from traffic on PCH, so too much car exhaust for my taste.

The best Pizza and the best Beer
These guys do it right! Pizza Port is always packed with a line out the door because their pizza is just that good. They also have an amazing selection of micro brews, and I don't use the word amazing lightly. You will NOT be disappointed at Pizza Port. I have a brother in law who comes down from OC just to drink beer and eat pizza here.

The only downside is the line and craziness inside the restaurant. Because it's so good there is always a line and sometimes it can be hard to find a table. So some times I pass on it if I don't feel like putting up with the hassle. But they deal with the crowds well, the line moves fast and their pizza assembly line gets your pizza out even when it's packed in around 10 to 15 minutes.

I've loved This Place For Over 20 Years
I've loved Pizza Port for over 20 years now, dating back to when my friends and I first when in there in high school back in the late 1980s.
The pizza, which is piled high with toppings and has a crunchy, 'not-too-thick' crust, is the main attraction for me, even though I normally prefer really thin, greasy pizza.
There's just something special about the pizza here. It's pretty much the best I've ever had, better even than anything I've had in "famous pizza cities" like New York or Chicago.

I've always loved the casual ambiance here, too, with the surf videos or Padres games on TV and picnic benches for tables. But for a casual place, it's definitely not cheap. Especially if you also have their home-brewed beer.

I've grown to like their craft beers over the years. Though I didn't like them very much at first because I don't really like heavy beers. But it has grown on me over the years. But be careful when ordering.
If you order casually based on their clever names, you can end up with a pitcher of heavy, bitter beer that no one at your table really likes all that much, even if it is purportedly "award winning."

I've noticed over the last decade or so that it's gotten ever more crowded, which is a natural side-effect of their continued success I suppose.
As a result, it can be hard to get a table if you saunter in here at popular times, like lunchtime on weekends. But we usually meet our friends there a little early, like 11:30 AM.
So while the place may fill up around us at Noon-ish and lines begin to snake out the door, we've already got our table, our pizzas and our beers.

Until I had a child, I also never really noticed how family friendly it is, too. My young daughter particularly likes the video games and vending machines in the back.
As a parent, I now really appreciate places that my daughter likes (so she'll stay there happily for a while), but which I can also enjoy myself and have a beer (or three).

Family Favorite
There are a few places in town where all of our out of town guests MUST eat at. Pizza Port is one of those places.

First, you cannot miss out on the Beer Buddies. They are pizza crust covered in garlic and seasonings. Served with ranch and marinara sauce for dipping, a perfect starter with your Ceasar Salad and Beer.

They have tons of topping choices and the pies are big, hot, and full of goodness.

A great family place. There is a great park right around the corner to let the little ones run around either before or after your meal!
