Poor Animal Care by Lindsay W. at InsiderPages
I agree with the review written on 7-9-07. The birds are in lousy conditions. Their water is skank nasty, their droppings scream sick bird (undoubtedly from the conditions they are in), and I've had bad experiences with the employees. On one occasion, I had two different employees treat me and the animals poorly. They expressed their disdain for the birds, told me how spiteful and aggressive they are (fyi, they were speaking about some of the most affectionate species of parrots - agapornis - or lovebirds, and they threw out a few other facts that were actually dead wrong), and basically threw the cage open and told me that it was up to me to get one out. No wonder the water never gets changed. They treated me like a leper instead of a customer. This experience opened my eyes to the poor conditions these animals are living in. I am never shopping there again. While I think their prices are extremely fair, I can no longer support a store that does not love and take care of its animals.

Not the Best
The staff is friendly and I've never been ignored, but my problem with Pet Supermarket is the condition of the animals. Their Ball Pythons always look terrible - they aren't given the proper conditions for shedding. Reptiles species are often intermixed. The budgies are in a shallow bin, identical to those that rabbits and other small animals are housed in. This is undoubtedly stressful for them.
On the bright side, it's a great place to buy crickets and they have the best prices on ferrets in town. They also have a wide variety of pet supplies for such a small space. It's really not the best or the worst pet shop I've come across. I just question their ability to care for the animals they sell.
