The owner Chi Tai is always coaxing customer into unnecessary repair jobs like tranmission fluid change(though I just had mine done 2 months ago), brake pad replacement though the pad is still usable for 1-2 years. I had my car's starter replaced by them after it first broke down and the car wouldn't start. 2 years after the starter replacement by them, the same starter failed again. I brought my car back and shop owner said, yes, it's about time, normally starter only lasts about 2 years.. my god, i have another 1991 car and the starter never breaks! I had my timing belt/valve cover gasket and a few other seal/gasket replaced by them, and since then my car has been leaking oil. They're very unreliable and very dishonest. my worst experience ever.

I went to Peralta Auto Center to see if they did "smog test only". They said yes, and told me it was $69.95 plus $10 for the smog certificate. After the service advisor had helped me do the paper work, a mechanic drove my car across the street to another shop. I asked the owner why, and he said that shop was his branch. I looked around and found no signs saying "smog test only", and knew that I went to the wrong place. When I received a copy of my smog test only report, I saw that the shop's name was another shop instead of Peralta Auto Center. When I told him all that when paying, he got mad and shouted back "You signed the paper (work order)". When I said I was going to complain him, he said he has done the smog for me. The owner was not legal to do "smog test only". He was paying another shop (probably half price) to do the test for customers and keep the rest in his pockets.
