I ran into some financial situation like everyone nowadays i always do business with this company because i liked the people there and service. So in the month of Aug i went there an pawn a item and every month in order NOT to lose your item they charge intrest for storage, i skipped 2 month of intrest so later when i wanted to pick up my jewelry i was confronted with the intrest that i skipped which was understandable so for the month of february 06, 09 i paid $66.00 for those two months i got a print out of new receipt of what i would pay the next time to pick up my jewlery which was $258.00 but for some odd reason i wrote on the same reciept i wrote $267.98 just in case anything my gone wrong that would be the subject of more money had to be paid. Day of pick up which is Feb 20, 09 i went to pick up and was told that i would not be paying the total from my receipt i would be paying 22.00 MORE then what my receipt had stated i ask to speak to a manager he came out to be manager material at first but when i showed him my receipt and told him ' i want to pay what my recepit say" he told me "that WAS NOT going to happened and that there was nothing he can do" about it i told him i don't understand why we get a receipt for. He went on to tell me about prorate charges that didn't make sense to me since picking up 14 days later after making my last payment we went back in forth of trying to make me understand why i wasn't paying my ticket price finally i gave in to just getting my item OUT. I then ask him would i be getting a copy of what i am signing he said NO i told him i wanted a copy of the same document i was signing for he told me that his system would only prints out one yet i tore the one i had he was able to print out anthor dispite all manager told me he wold recommend me not to come back he didn't accomodate me in n-e way.

WHAT? I was just googling Peoples Pawn and Jewelry to get their phone number, and this web site popped up. I was shocked to see a bad review because I have shopped there for years and never had a bad experience. I am one of those people who loves to shop for good deals. Don't get me wrong, my tastes are high-end, but I do love a bargain. I felt compelled to add my own review. I have shopped many 2nd hand stores over the years and what I like about Peoples is that thier merchadise is quality, their knowledgable, and thier prices are fair. Anything I have ever bought from them (20-25 items) they always check and test completely before I buy it. I love the place. Oh, and my wife loves the jewelry department!

I recently purchased an expensive wireless microphone there. They tested it for me on a tiny guitar amp in the store. I bought it after I was satisfied it worked. After I hooked it up to a real PA system later that evening, it was evident that there was a major problem and it would feedback at low volumes. Something that never could have been detected at their store. So I returned to the store right away and I was told the best they could offer me was to to buy it back for 1/6th of what I paid them for it! I was so insulted, I left the store to never return again!!!! Be very careful of this store and their merchandise. Very shady business.
