Great place to bring cats, dogs for boarding, grooming, daycare
This is a beautiful place on a beautiful street in soho. it has this calming effect when you walk in. The people who work there are FANTASTIC and i really mean that. They are on top of their game, LOVE the animals, and are really pleasant to deal with. My cat actually PLAYS there when we go away and my dog PULLS me through the door and doesn't even look back! They have really nice groomers who are very gentle and do a great job on my little terrier mix which isn't always easy because she is very SQUIRMY! Their prices are lower than everyone elses AND you get the best care so it is a win, win! I definitely would give them a high recommendation.
Price Range: $50 - $100

Do not take your pets here!
My puppy got sick when we boarded him at PAWS, respiratory and eye infection plus a nice case of round worms, but when I expressed my concern to the owner, she offered to pay a portion of the vet bill, so I wouldnt be left feeling like they didnt care. She was very nice, so I feel that maybe the problem was boarding my puppy, while his immune system was still weak. So cageless boarding in itself has its pros and cons. I wasnt happy with my overall experience at PAWS, but a sick puppy isnt anything to be happy about under any circumstance. They did offer to reconcile the situation and I felt much better after speaking with the owner. I recommend this facility but with caution to those new to the whole oarding process.

best groomer in the city
Could not believe that when I brought my dog in for grooming I found that carol the groomer was working at Soho now. Carol is by far the best groomer in the city. She has been grooming show dogs for almost 30 years and her reputation is well known. I have a terrier which requires stripping and when I left that store, I could have gone straight to the runway with him and he would have taken first prize. That is how amazing he looked. And he was having fun with the people at the front desk when I came to get him-he was not in a cage. She had a cocker spaniel on the table when I got there (they have the grooming in the front window so you can always see what they are doing) and was giving him the cutest cut I ever saw. i had heard about Carol through the years but never had the opportunity to have my dog groomed by her. I cannot even say how happy and satisfied I was (the price was very reasonable too!) and if you have the chance to take your dog there for grooming, definitely ask for her . (I think she is at their chelsea store one day a week too so if you don't live downtown, you can find her up there.)

Incredible place-Incredible people....they called me to tell me my dog had an upset stomach the first day she was there. Then they called a day or two later to tell me she was relaxed and her stomach was back to normal. ...

great find for boarding
Last time i went on vacation left my doggie at a pet spa in the pelham area of the Bronx where i live. It was a disaster. This time i researched all the options and called every place in the city. The one that stood out was Paws in Soho. They were so nice and it sounded like the best choice so i gave them a try in february when i went away.
My dog had a great time. She was happy and waggly when i picked her up. I kept trying to get her leash on and she kept running back up the ramp to go back to her friends. She is diabetic and gets insulin shots twice a day and i knew she hadn't missed any. They brought up her remaining insulin and needles and they called me the first day to let me know she was eating well and getting her shots so i wouldn't worry. (That did not happen in the other place i had left her.) Staff was amazing, friendly and she was kissing them more than me! Will definitely use them again when i go away in April. It is worth the trip from the Bronx and the extra time it takes me to get there. I wouldn't trust anyone else with her.
