Like any theater, Theatrx has it's share of hits and flops, but it's mostly original. A lot of musicals, musical reviews, old television show send ups, and some original works by other authors - you'll find no Neil Simon or Agatha Christie here! What really makes the trip to Theatrx special is the proprietor, Steve Storc. A human dynamo, Steve writes most of the season, directs, choreographs, orchestrates, sews costumes and builds sets if necessary. Directing from the lightbooth, he's the public address system, the lighting operator, and the voice of God. If you arrive a little before show time, you may get to catch him tickling the ivories on the grand piano in the foyer. Or maybe, Steve will personally, pour you a glass of wine. And when you come back the next time (and you will) Steve will remember your name. I've seen perhaps twenty shows at Theatrx over the years. It is without a doubt the friendliest place in Escondido.‎
