Fantastic grounds and decor-pretty decent place to take your dog
I have used Paradise Ranch in the past. I was impressed when I went for the interview they make you do. They've got it all set up for the dogs with a water park and the whole bit. But one thing that irked me was that the attendants didn't encourage the dogs to play. When I asked why they were so aloof, I was told they don't do that because it will start fights. I was under the impression that was what the screening interview was for- to weed out the aggressive dogs. But in the end my dog seemed pretty happy so it all worked out. Would I go there again? Probably not.

the high price of paradise by sweet j. at InsiderPages
My experience was the exact opposite of the other writer. Our dog stayed there for six days while we were on vacation, and by the second day, he had been put into solitary because they claimed he was very aggressive with other dogs. This came with an extra $25 per day price tag due to extra staffing. This all came as a big surprise, because he loves to meet other dogs, was evaluated in glowing terms when we visited ($20 for walking in the door to check out the place!), and was never considered aggressive by the Pasadena Humane Society, where he was for six months prior to our adopting him. I think he was well-cared for, but I think that people on vacation are at their mercy, and that Paradise Ranch takes advantage of that fact.

A DOZEN LARGE BLOODY BITE MARKS ON MY DOG'S NECK!
THIS IS THE WORST EXPERIENCE MY DOG HAS ENDURED. It appears this place has tranquil ponds and green lush grass, but they are just the front areas that only turles and koi fish are in; not your dog. It appears they are all over the front entrance furniture in the website pictures. However, they are in the back fence where even the owners cannot go when taking a "tour". They can only view from a window from another building far away. They rush you through to where you cannot really see the dogs at all. I phoned in a couple of times to check and see if any other dogs were giving my dog trouble. They said "no everything's fine". She was washed before I picked her up. When I picked up my dog after a week, I found bloody and scabby bite and teeth wounds all over her neck. Two were the size of a dime on a 20 lb. dog's neck! They were very noticeable and for even the person washing my dog, of course they would notice but did not muster a word. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE THAT LOVES THEIR DOG TO TAKE THEM TO THIS PLACE. I would have rather had someone spend 20 minutes a day with her than have her constantly attacked by mean dogs. The fact that the wounds were so obvious and they deny seeing them is the other major problem. They have to fix their criteria for what dogs they allow; the dogs are obviously not supervised because there would be only a couple bite marks instead of a dozen. Don't get too excited on the entrance; it's just a facade.

Pros: My dog was not dead when I picked her up.
Cons: My dog was severly injured many times and Paradise Ranch denies any knowledge of these occurences.
