Full of inspiration
This is the sister store to Ornamentea (which is in the Glenwood South area). Like Ornamentea, it is a locally-owned, independently-operated arts and crafts store, owned and managed by women. It seems like the main difference between the two is that Ornamentea focuses on beads and jewelry-making materials, while Panopolie also sells materials for felting, altered book making, and other arts and crafts. Panopolie is also larger, more open, and with more table space. It is located near several restaurants, shopping centers, a post office, and the Triangle Town Center mall, very close to the intersection of Capital Blvd and 540. Like any place, I've experienced some staff members to be more pleasant than others, but in general they are usually very friendly and helpful, and eager to answer questions. They offer several classes a month, as well as $2.00 Try-It Tuesdays, a Bead Weaving club, an Altered Book club, special projects for kids on Friday mornings, and other special events.
