I love pets. To me, anything is fair game for cuddling whether it's a humongous dog or a baby kitten. I'm man enough to admit it: I cuddle. But I've also had the misfortune of cuddling some pretty gross smelling/looking animals. Fortunately, I've found a place where I can recommend people to take Fido when his fur needs a good "shave and haircut".

Found on Garnet Ave, Pacific Beach Pet Salon is a great place to go to get your furry loved one a nice trim, a wash and even a place for them to play a little bit while waiting their turn. The shop has been around for fifty years so the staff definitely knows how to cut a hair or three. While the place only has two groomers they are as fast and efficient when getting through clients as a salon with five groomers! On average, baring other customers and phone calls coming in, they have a turn around time of an hour. That's efficiency to an E.

ven before entering, customers can already feel the welcoming attitude of PB Pet Salon. The owner, Gil, has also renovated the property over time and has created a kennel for cats while their owners are away. But "kennel" doesn't do this place justice. It's more like a mini kitty resort! Caging is optional (dogs too, who get to run around in the back) so if you want your friendly feline to have space to play, the kennel/resort area has couches, TVs and all sorts of places to climb around. It almost puts my own living place to shame! 

I take my poodle 'Buster' and cat 'Winnie' here both for haircuts and they do an amazing job! They are into rescue and the groomer trains service dogs which is a huge plus in my book!<br />
My friends take their little dog here too and she looks like a princess when she comes home, pink nail polish and all. Buster said no way to that LOL.

My dog actually runs up the steps to go here. There was no comment from my cat since he is in a carrier. Irina is always so helpful and when I had to board my cat for 3 months I felt good about leaving him in the motel.

They do a great job on my Bishon. I was there today and saw a cat get a mohawk! LOL hilarious. Looked pretty good too.

I took my Bichon Frise here to get groomed, and they did a terrible job. They were able to get me in the same day I called, on a Saturday. They should have been red flag number one. My dog had some knots, but with some good time spent brushing her, a professional groomer would have been able to get them out. This lady took one look at her long hair, literally looked at her for one second, and said she would have to shave her, no ifs ands or buts! So reluctantly I let them. I go pick her up and my dogs hair is all uneven, she cut too much off around the face some parts were longer than others. I also think they sedated my dog, without asking for my permission (which I would never allow). My dog was all groggy and she passed out for hours when we got home, which se has never done before after she has been groomed. I would never recommend this place to any one or take my dog back there. And the price was not cheap. They charged as much as any groomer I have been to and they offered none of the extras the other groomers have such as webcams, bandanas around the neck, bows in the hair (I don't like that, but for what I'm paying I expect more than a bad hair cut), etc.
