Can't beat $3 tapas, nice people and chill ambiance
I've been here a few times now. It's on the border of LJ and PB a few minutes from my house. I've had about 8 or so tapas from the menu and various wines. Pleased with all of them. I could eat meat and cheese every day. The fritatta I tried was delicious too.

You should try to schedule your visit around what live music is playing. There are quite a few events at The Turquoise planned by Suite Brigitte that are worth while and not typical of most restaurants. Art, community music, bridal events, jazz and more. Cool stuff.

The decor on the inside reminds me of my travels in Europe but I can see how some people might think it's tired. The patio has a much newer vibe.

My only complaint is parking, however, the last few times have been no problem. After 6pm you may park at Ace Hardware or the LJ Car Wash next door. This makes a huge difference.

They will also do a paella party at your house for up to 200 people!

All in it.

Great Happy Hour specials
My first impression on walking into The Turquoise was of romance, but not in the normal sense of the word. This is not a quiet place where you can have a whispered conversation, instead this is a place you can enjoy, laugh out loud, have great food, enjoy live music and have a great time with one or many friends. And by the way the wall chairs and tables are set-up you might even meet new friends.

I went there for an event and had tapas paired with wine. The food looked was very beautifully presented and it tasted great. The tapas were light and you can taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients. The wine we sampled was very good as well, we had Merlot, Zinfandel and Pinot Noir and they were all just right. Their happy hour prices are excellent considering the quality of the food and wine.

There is ample seating inside, at the bar and outside. Parking in the daytime can be a challenge but after 6 PM you can park at the car wash next door or at the nursery and hardware store in front.

Tapas and wine!!!
The staff at this cafe was great - friendly, upbeat and personable.

3 wines were offered - Zin, Merlot and Pinot Noir. I tried them all, but my fave was the Mark West PN.

Tapas offered were a meat/cheese platter, a potato frittata and a veggie frittata. All were good. The potato frittata was my fave tapa of the evening.

Cool and dim ambiance and a band was playing at the corner stage. The band was a bit loud, and we found our group yelling over the music just to hold a conversation.

Great Vibe......
Cafe Europa is a really nice place to meet up and enjoy some good food and wine, as well as live music. My first time there I felt warmly welcomed just walking in, the decor is so inviting with an artful flair and I happen to love live music so this is definitely my kind of place. I was very pleased with their menu offerings like classic Caprese and Frittatta Di Giri & at $3 each during Happy Hour (5-7) which make a great pairing with their Merlot at a great price! I will go again and recommend this spot to friends.

Highly recommend the Happy Hour
The Turquiose Cafe borderlines Bird Rock/La Jolla in North PB. However, these are not beach city prices. Happy Hour features delicious $3 Tapas, drink specials and live music. It's an easy place to gather with friends and hang out all night. The night I was there they had a talented jazz fusion band which added to the ambience. Anyone who's been to Europe will feel right at home.
