Euthanasia pricing inconsistant by Monica S. at InsiderPages
Not only is the overall pricing significantly higher (#180+) than 4 other hospitals polled in the region, the bill to euth my 36# Aust Shep in May is $20 lower than my 5.5# cat less than 6 mos later. Although the specifics of the visit were identical (arrive in crisis, IV needed for med, pre-sedation administered, final injection, my presence in room, group cremation after, no ashes requested back), the billing for my 15.5 yr old cat included a $50 'problem' exam, addl charges for 2 or 3 other injections and different base charge. Both a chat that night and a second visit back two days later to discuss (neither with the vet personally), I've received a sort of brush off and they chalk it up to different vets can/do charge for different things. At such a difficult time of losing cherished pets, I feel I was upcharged and now, no room made for proper consideration and/or client review / service. Hospital is owned by one vet and he should be responsible for all actions within. Including consistant pricing and good client care. I *can* add though, that both the lady Dr in May and Dr Horn in late Oct, took good care of my animals. No issue there.
