We take our kids here and they think they're at the zoo. This place is very, very clean and offers a variety of birds, feed and grooming services. The birds are not in cages in the day and you are free to pick them up and pet them.

I went in there for the first time today and I was amazed at how healthy, happy and friendly all their birds are. If I get a bird, it will be from there for sure!!

Fran's Exotic Birds is one of the best bird shops in SoCal. As you enter the shop, the most striking thing is that the birds are not in cages. Each has a perch hanging from the ceiling, with many toys, food and water. The birds are friendly and love to be petted and talked to. Each is hand raised, as opposed to pet shop birds that often have never been handled except to be moved from one cage to another. With two walls of windows and bright light streaming in, the store is filled with the sounds of happy birds.

Bulk seed is available in a good assortment and moth-free. There is also a good variety of pellet foods and packaged treats.

Fran's has a wall covered in toys to keep any sized bird, from budgie to macaw, happy and occupied for hours, along with food & water bowls, perches, cages and other supplies.

Personal recomendations as to which bird is right for you comes from years of knowledge and caring for the birds. After a day or two, the staff calls to see that everything is going well with your bird in its new home, or to answer any questions that may have come up.

The shop is clean, open and bright. All-in-all, an excellent place to shop for birds and supplies, as well as any grooming or boarding needs your bird may have. I've shopped there for more than 15 years and will continue to do so for many more.

I have a 19 year old Green Cheeked Conure named, Applejack. She has been groomed by Fran's staff over several years now. And she has been boarded at Fran's shop in Cypress, at least once a year during my one week vacation. The staff pays special attention to Applejack's needs (she likes a quiet room) And when I pick her up to take her home, she appears in great shape. Fran sells quality products. Her shop is clean, and her staff are friendly and educated in bird care/bird behavior. Fran's prices are very fair, and there is even a senior discount on purchases everyday.
