When Charles Derbyshire recommends that you try a rose, which makes you turn up your nose of course as Americans, its because he can reflect back on years of traveling to the French Riviera in his previous tv buyer career and regale you with how he drank this one with pizza in Cannes or that one on the terrace of the Hotel du Cap. Or if you are stuck for which wine goes with Asian food, he has stories of traveling in Asia on a documentary shoot and what he would recommend goes with a good pho.
