Has become a money making Pet Mill and NOT a CARING Vet Practice
We have been taking both our pups to them for years, but for the last few, we had cut back due to financial situations. All we wanted was to talk to the Doctor before we took our Sara in. We had an emergency and no one answered at their office, so we took her to another recommended Vet. She was diagnosed with cancer. Called Dr. Barry Buchalter's (Dr. B) office to talk to him and the woman (Lucy) on the phone was extremely rude. She talked down to us and talked about Sara like she was a "product" and not part of our family. She wouldn't even leave a message for the Doctor. What happened to your practice, Dr. B? And this woman Lucy, should not even be near the Customer Service Industry let alone a Doctor's Office. I would never visit them again. I was very disappointed.

Dr. Buchalter is a great find. He was wonderful with my two dogs. We are new to the area and my dog was ill and I cannot say enough how great the entire staff was at helping me with my sick dog. I was referred by NUMEROUS people and he did not disappoint. I HIGHLY recommend him and wish I could find a doctor who would take care of me who was as caring as Dr. B.

Dr. Buchalter is a fantastic vet, who has an absolutely incredible way with animals. Couldn't be happier. I wish I could find a doctor for myself that I was as happy with.

My boss gave me an unexpected day off so I wanted to try and get my dogs to the vet. It's rare that I have a day off when everyone else is working. I tried to call and was met first thing with a recording that told me that before I could make an appointment I had to fax over my pets record from our other veterinarian. My last veterinarian was in Baton Rouge and I don't remember their name. I do have receipts I've kept so I tried to speak to the receptionist to see if this was ok or if I would be turned down but was again met with a message that there was no one to answer my call and the mailbox was full. I decided after three more tries that if they were going to be that hard to communicate with, I didn't want them as my vet anyway.

Cons: for a business that deals in such a personal caring area, it was very inpersonal treatment
