The dive gear here is as good as anywhere. Go here if you want to spend more than anywhere else. OE should be known as "Overly Expensive". The last people to die in a San Diego dive accident were trained here.
Pros: Who knows. It's close to some people I guess.
Cons: Overly Expensive.

Ocean Enterprises
There are several stores in San Diego and I do not have an issue with any of them, however the dive center of choice for me is OE. What impressed me the most about OE is not just the selection, but the fact the staff took the time to learn my first name. Another example I was very impressed by was when I had a few questions about Dive Computers, and it was clear the staff member I was speaking to wasn't knowledgeable about the ones i was looking at, he called over this girl who had the answers. It was also nice to see that the guy was listening intently to gain the knowledge. Come to find out he had started just two weeks prior. I have reccomended OE as they are known to several people to take lessons as well, and they seemed to have liked the instructors. I see them at La Jolla Shores with there big trucks lugging their students equipment to and from the beach. I'm a National Sales manager and that is a great sales tool....Not sure if they take the equipment to the pool ...

Ocean Enterprises is the best for scuba...
I have been diving for over 20 years, lived in many places, and by far Ocean Enterprises is the best dive center I have ever experienced. The owners Werner and Myra are awesome...they really value customer service. Their commitment to service has definitely passed on to their staff too. They are all great people and I enjoy seeing them every time I'm in the store. It doesn't stop there though, they are also very knowledgeable about the gear, and Ocean Enterprises has the best selection anywhere. The instructors are great too, it's the best place for getting certified and also getting your advanced certifications. If you love the sport enough, this is the place to go all the way and become an instructor through Mark Rainbolt, their Director of Training. He really knows his stuff and he's funny too! Becoming a scuba instructor is a great way to turn a hobby into a way to make money!‎

Simply the best
I moved to San Diego for the dive culture before even researching the shops in the area. Truth is OE is easily in the top 10 shops in the nation. From the selection to the staff, it's got everything you need. You walk in and it smells like good clean neoprene. The colorful walls are covered in just about every gidget and gadget. The have just about every line of gear you could want. The repair department is headed by one of the most knowledgable repair techs in the business. Brett has seen and fixed just about any equipment problem that you come across. Rental department has like what 200 set ups or something like that. What a great resource for independent instructors. And they have so many cool events like carving contests and fun dives. Don't get me started on the Tent sales. They are total madness. I am glad I ended up here and can call OE my local dive shop.‎

The largest dive shop in San Diego,...
I have been going to Ocean Enterprises for years. They have the largest showroom around. Their service department is enormous and has a very knowledgeable staff. The amount of rental gear available is huge and the rental gear always looks new and clean. Werner and his crew are always friendly and love to talk about diving. His compressor and fill station is the nicest equipment I have ever seen. There is always a wide variety of gear in stock and you don't have to deal with trying to find hard to find items like at some of the smaller dive shops. They have large tent sales every so often where the best deals in town can be found. I got a smoking deal on a JBL speargun that was probably about a $100 discount. They have a lot of instructors so it's easy to find a class to get into that will fit your schedule. They don't skimp on worldwide dive trips either. If you ever want to take the vacation of your life check out one of those.‎
