Great Grooming for difficult animals by Y G. at InsiderPages
I have a cat who is getting on in years, and she is quite cranky at times. She has extremely long hair that unfortunately has a tendency to become quite tangled and matted very quickly. The employees here assured me they would be able to take care of her. They give her sedation and then give her a lion cut. We take our cat in the summer and it usually lasts about a year before we have to go back. They are wonderful with animals and are willing to keep her overnight at no extra charge, as she becomes extremely cranky and mean upon waking from her sedation. If you have a pet that is difficult to groom, I would suggest bringing them here.

This vet has been very helpful and friendly over the past few
This vet has been very helpful and friendly over the past few years. The staff is always excited to see us and our pets are even excited to go and get treats there! After boarding there for a few days, or a week or more, our dogs look great and are still excited to go back to visit. It is obvious how much the doctors and staff enjoy taking care of our pets.

Above & beyond care
We would like to thank Oak Ridge Animal Hospital for the great care they provide for our dog. We normally take our dog with us when we travel, this is due to the fact that we had not been able to find a place where we felt comfortable leaving him. Until last year, when we tried Oak Ridge Animal Hospital, we will call during the day and get updates on our baby and they will provide us with feedback as to how he was doing. When we pick him up he always seems happy, energetic & playful. We can tell he is loved and well taken care of. This has made it easier for us to travel, knowing that the staff really cares for our baby when we are not there.

I lost my Susie, our 9 year old beagle, on May 30 when she was
I lost my Susie, our 9 year old beagle, on May 30 when she was brought to the vet's for teeth cleaning. We had the prescreening done several weeks before to be sure no physical problem would cause any concern during the procedure . Less than two hours after being dropped off she was gone. The vet said it just happened--no reason other than her breathing became irregular and heart stopped. After some questioning the vet admitted a week later that a mistake was made by the vet technician during the procedure. (I was led to believe the vet-not a technician-would be taking care of the dental procedure). A valve was turned to check for leaks in the breathing tube and was not "released completely" (which sounds like it was not turned back on) so she soon was unable to breath and died. What I do know is that if it was a mistake in the procedure there should have been some kind of oversight when using life sustaining equipment on living animals to ensure it is done correctly. To lose her because somone turned a valve the wrong way is terrible and breaks my heart. There is no way anyone can tell me this could not have been avoided. To me the actions of the vet and staff amount to negligence. At this point in time all we have done is send a complaint to the NC Veterinary board -- but this won't bring her back. We lost our baby and it could have been easily avoided. She was perfectly healthy! I miss her and feel that unless I tell everyone I can to avoid this veterinarian her death will mean nothing. She was so full of life! We will always love her and miss her.
