Plan to see Laura plantation and Oak alley the same day, they are almost next door to each other. Oak alley is so beautiful with all of the oak trees. The house is goregous and the story is great.

Enjoy the Oaks by Michael R. at InsiderPages

This is one of the prettiest landscapes in all the world. Grab a mint julep,sit on the veranda, and take a tour of this antebellum home given by 19th century costumed tour guides. And if you ask, you can even ring the dinner bell on the side of the house. This is by far the best plantation to visit on River Road!

Oak Alley

This is a beautiful place to visit. The alley of oaks lining the main house are just amazingingly gorgeous! THe tour guides are sweet and full of historical info that take you back 200 yrs, back to the days of courtships, ballrooms, and the ugliness of slavery. Its a historically fascinating place to visit, with beautiful architecture and majestic grounds. The only thing I'd stay away from are the mint juleps served on the porch...
