I went to Hillcrest with some friends for the first time this weekend and we stopped at this place first. It was probably my favorite bar for the entire night. It wasn't clubby but they had music playing, it also wasn't snotty or to flashy either. Drinks were cheap and the staff was friendly.

Awesome gay dive bar! I love a bar where the main attraction is well... the bar! Now mind you this is a DIVE bar so no crazy mixology or bells and whistles attached to your drink but they have an interesting selection of otherwise overlooked rums. There's a strong sense of a locals crowd here and they are well loved, you can tell! The service is great, the people are nice and it's a fun spot to grab a drink before having dinner!

This is a great spot in the heart of Hillcrest, 1 of 2 Gay Villages in San Diego. The staff was friendly and freely gave advice about where else to go, where to eat etc... The patio draws a mix of fun professional types, not too many under 30 for a change! Daily drink specials, besides the domestic beers for $2.50.
Good for people watching too, front windows open up onto the street. Good music/TV by cable provider, really gets busy after 9 Thurs-Sunday. Will definitely try again and recommend to all!!
