Novato Glass is a family owned and operated business, established in 1968 by Dick Matthews. Dick took interest in the glass business after getting a summer job in the 1950'S at Larkspur Glass (now closed). the first glass company in Marin County.

After attending College of Marin and working for Southern Pacific Railroad Dick went back into the glass business working for San Rafael Glass and Paint (which was instrumental in changing building codes to require safety glass in patio doors nationwide).

Dick started Novato Glass with only himself and with a little help from his father he built the business to what it is today, an 1,100 plus square foot showroom and 12 employees.

Sadly, Dick passed away in February 2010. Carrying on the torch are Dick's two sons Rick and Tom (the oldest two sons of his seven children).

RUDE is an understatement....‎
The woman receptionist (claiming to be the boss) is exceptionally RUDE and assuming. I can hardly stand being in the same room...social nincompoop comes to mind. Nonetheless, stay away. I dropped a template off to have a piece of glass cut, but the price was a little much, so I wanted to give it some thought. When i went to pick up my template, that took me 3 hours to make, they threw it away. WHAT KIND OF COMPANY LITERALLY THROWS AWAY BUSINESS? I'll tell you, not the kind I want to do business with. Didn't even have the common courtesy to call and tell me they were throwing it. Unforgivable. No less, simply seeing this woman, let alone hearing her speak, makes me want to vomit. Save yourself the emotional deress, and skip Novato Glass.‎

great place‎
Friendly, helpful, fast and reasonable. Always had pleasant and efficient dealings with them all the way around. Much better than that other place in San Raphael that overcharged me, messed up my order and then tried to blame me, oh and it took weeks, while Novato Glass had the same order ready in one day!‎

this is for the person who thought novato glass was rude. i believe they have the wrong store. i have had nothing but good luck with novato glass and would highly recommend them to anyone. they were the nicest and most helpful than the others. thank you novato glass‎
