This is a top rated clinic. The Doctor also does voluntary work for Sam Simon foundation. they are very busy but get you in fairly quickly with attention.

I was looking for a new vet and my friend told me about his vet which he's been taking them for over 25 years because not only the doctors are very good, but their very accurate and very very reasonable. After spending few thousand of dollars on a simple UTI problem on my one cat, I was totally broke but my other cat got cancer and he really needed an immediate treatment. So I drove all the way from South Bay (a 40 mile round trip) to see them. My friend highly recommended the Senior doctor, but a younger doctor examined my cat (they're father and son). Although it was a quick in and out, he listened to what I had to say and immediately took my cat to do a blo*d test. I took both of my cats and both received total of four medications. With a test, the bill came out incredibly low. He called me the next day with a result and asked me to come back the following week. I couldn't go that day so I went a few days later and this time the senior Dr. examined my cats. I learned he was all by himself that day and it was really busy. Honestly, I tried to take my friend's words and believe he's good as his son, but I felt the exam was a bit too rushed and I'm sorry to say but I had a hard time understanding him. Two days after that, my cat's cancer symptom got worse so I called and asked if the younger doctor could see my cat. They told me because he had to go in to a surgery he'd be done by 11:30, but with my situation and location, he would see me as long as I could come by 12. When I got there, the girl said she has already put the file out for my cat and although there were many people waiting again, they took us in immediately. The news was not a good one and I became very emotional. Dr. Vasquez was very understanding and patient with me. He did give him more meds, IV and a shot but he only charged me for a bottle of pill. I am very grateful for them and I will keep driving the 40 miles gladly for my four-legged children.

I picked up a cat at the LA shelter. Thought it would be a great experience but this clinic has left me so frustrated.!! From what I understand, the shelter does all their veterinarian business with this pathetic clinic. First off, the communication between the shelter and this clinic is abominable. Everyone at the shelter gave me one direction in regards to my cat and how the procedure of picking up a sheltered cat works; while everyone at the animal clinic gave me completly different directions about how the shelter/clinic operations work and the clinic has made me jump through MULTIPLE HOOPS just to pick up a stray cat who I have fell in love with. I live across town, I cannot easily get to this clinic, and I work. I have made three visits in two days, 20 miles one way, 40 miles each visit, and I still do not have my cat that the shelter initially told me that I would have after 20 minutes of paperwork. I understand that they have surgery hours and pick up hours are at certain times, but I have been there twice at the specified pick up times, calling each time to see if this is ok, taking time off of work, and each time the clinic made me jump through yet another HOOP. Today I go across town yet AGAIN...!!!! I'm ticked and Citysearch is the only place to vent because the clinic just DOESN'T CARE. And if I have to talk to that lying fake-voiced white chick on the phone again I just might sock her in the throat, saving you all from her "I AM BETTER THAN ALL OF YOU" condensending behavior, and all you other receptionists know exactly who I am talking about!!!

I had to give a 1 star otherwise it will not take my review. I too was also referred to this vet and reading reviews I decided to go. I took my cat to the vet because he seemed in so much pain he could not urinate. They called me in pretty quick into a room said he was in pain which already knew said they would keep him for 4 days and I could come and check on him. I went today to visit knowing I still have a few more days before I pick him up. It was horrible, he seemed worse. The guy who brought my cat in said he was full of urine because of the catheter but he didn't look good at all. I am going down tomorrow again and this time I am taking my camera to take pictures. JUST BECAUSE THE PRICE IS RIGHT DOESN'T MEAN YOU SHOULD TAKE THEM, IF YOU REALLY CARE FOR YOUR PET PLEASE FIND ANOTHER PLACE. I will keep you posted in a few days.

This place has a contract with the city and all of the animals that come from North Central Shelter have to come through here. I rescued to dogs for myself (I'm not a rescue group) and they did such a bad job I had to spend lots of money on both of the dogs because the neuter was so bad I had a real vet fix it. They neuter the old fashion way where they castrate laterally, and only staple one layer of skin because thats is how they do it with farm animals is what they told me there. The dog still had testicles although they were disconnected sort of speak I would never go there again I guess its cheap but screw it I would rather pay more than go to such a bad place.
