Nina's is the best little used bookshop around for finding good, cheap reading material! In a day when paperbacks are costing in the $10 range, Nina's offers a real bargain. The best thing is that her stock just doesn't sit there: there's great turnover & always something new or just recently released. She carries a great selection of children's & nonfiction reading alongside the standard popular fiction, mystery, sci fi, & romance. Nestled in an otherwise nondescript shopping center right off College Ave & El Cajon Blvd, Nina's is a MUST stop for picking up some beach or airplane reading at unbeatable prices!

I love reading so I popped in to take a look around.

1. They do not have anything different. They're inventory is average in that it has just the same old romance novels and mystery novels that people get hooked on. It also has a lot of classic books that teens need to read in high school. It does not have anything contemporary or new.

2. I asked a very simple question to the woman working there and she was very rude to me. I got the feeling it was because I looked young and she thought I was not worth her time.

I would only recommend this place if you are a new parent looking for books to buy to read to your kids, but you don't want to spend a lot, I don't blame you, or if you are a reader looking to get hooked on a series, so you can just pop in to the mystery section, grab the first in a series and happy reading. DO NOT go here to buy books for high school teens. Teachers always want a very specific version of the book they are reading, and often the old one in the used book shop is not that version.

I honestly would avoid the place all together. There isn't anything there that you can't find at the library.

Ninas Books is just one of many great used bookstores in San Diego, and while they carry new books in addition to used books, it is their supply of used books that will keep you returning to Ninas Books again and again. Whether you are into the great classics like Shakespeare and Dickinson, or you prefer mystery, science fiction, or even need gently used Cliff notes for school, you are sure to find it at Ninas books. They are conveniently located on El Cajon Blvd, and have very convenient store hours, so you can drop by this shop after school or work, if you need something in a hurry. The prices are reasonable, but considering most of the books they sell are used, I think the prices are a bit higher then you would expect to pay for a used book from somewhere like E-bay, a garage sale, or even Amazon sellers. They will also purchase used books, and all though they will not pay you cash for your books (only store credit), if you are looking to purchase a lot of books, that might be the way to go. Just dont expect to get fair market value for the books that they buy off of you.
