Their pizza was excellent, but we had horrible service. I was in a party of 6. All we ordered was 1 small pepperoni pizza and 1 large pepperoni pizza. I would think this would be a very simple order for a pizzeria. We watched as several tables of people who came in after us got their food, ate it and actually left before we were even served. We complained to the manager and he discounted our meal and threw in a free pitcher of beer, but we'll probably not return this place.

I was at Nikis last week before a Red Wings game and I will definatly return. The pizza was some of the best that I have had in a long time, cheesy with a crunchy crust. the flaming cheese and the greek salad were both delicious as well. Service was great, our server was very nice and checked on us periodically.

Prejudice Exist At Nikis Pizza? Surprising Uh?

On Thursday, September 24th a friend an i (we are both African-American) decided to go to Nikis for a late bite and drink only to be totally embarassed and to never return again.

Upon entering Nikis Pizza we noticed there were #2 outside patios one was totally empty the other was occupied with a few people. We asked if we could sit on the patio that was empty but was told by a young man (wait staff) that it was closed. We were escorted to the patio that was occupied. About 5 minutes later 5 young ladies (white) entered Nickis and asked if they could sit on the patio that was empty and they were told YES!

After watching this...my friend and I were greatly disturbed and inquired with the waiter who told us the manager had decided to open the patio. We asked the manager and he was unaware of the re-opening of the patio but provided a lame excuse about construction being done to the bldg. Puzzling? He even suggested if we were unhappy to not come back. He said this is what he would do. There were no offers exteded to us to fix the situation. We were shocked !

We are long time customers of this Detroit landmark but will NEVER return. As you know Michigan is experience extreme economic stress a meal out is a treat that some can not afford therefore business should not treat their guest in such a terrible way.

My friend and I finished our meal and immediately left the restaurant. We have been spreading the word to all our friends and family about this terrible experience. Now would you return to a place like that? We wont...

Terribly disappointed
Looked forward to a visit to Niki's after tip from a local (who gave us a good tip earlier to the Sweetwater Tavern, which was great!) with our group of 4 (all adults).

We will not be going back....pizza looked like it would taste good, but did not. Pizza sauce wasn't seasoned, very little cheese. Got hot combo appetizer and the fried foods tasted the same and sausage seemed as a weird inclusion. Did not finish either pizza or appetizer.

Oh, and the Cokes were HORRIBLE. Very watery and little carbonation. I switched to drink water.

Amazing service! Great food!
My three kids and I went to Niki's for lunch. (Not a fun task to begin with). We were greeted at the door by one of the servers who offered to help me with my stroller. Our waiter sat us right away and got our drinks out right away. I was trying to decide if I should get the flaming cheese and the server said it was great and the kids would like seeing it in flames. When he brought it out, it was quite an awesome production. Very cool!!! The kids loved it (the show, they didn't actually like the cheese). We ordered the chicken strips a pizza. The pizza was awesome. Very cheesey and a wonderful crust. The chicken strips were probably some of the best we have had. They were perfect for the kids.

Our waiter was WONDERFUL. Helpful, fast and very attentive. He even offered to help me carry my food out the door until I got my stroller set up.

I definitely didn't think of Niki's as a kid friendly place, but after eating there, I think they are WONDERFUL for kids. THANK you!!!!!
