I was here for a wedding and vas very happy with the hotel. Fresh amazing looking flowers in the lobby and a helpful staff

I travel a lot for business and am platinum elite with Marriott. I was truly disgusted to see that the valet had taken about $10.00 in cash from my car. It was there in change the night I left it with them, but not there in the morning. I did complain to the hotel management, who referred me to the security department. They said that they would "look into it". It is not the fact that the money was taken, but the lack of response from the security department, to the point that they would not return my calls, always stating that the person I needed to talk to is not in at the time. They would take my number and never return my calls. I will not and have not stayed at this hotel since.

My company held three days of meetings at this hotel. I expected it to be your standard business focused hotel with standard meeting rooms and bad food. Boy, was I wrong! Me and my colleges were all very pleasantly surprised. This is a beautiful hotel with a great staff that really focuses on service. There always seemed to be an employee at every corner to direct us to where we needed to be or ask any question.

The hotel had great food. I did not get a chance to eat in the restaurant, but all the food they served at our meetings was outstanding.

The hotel is in a great location. Directly across the street from a high-end mall that has great shops and restaurants.

Situated in the best area of Newport Beach, CA just walking distance to Fashion Island Mall. Great staff and rooms were very well maintained and clean. Will definitely stay here again.

I actually was planning to have my reception ,wedding here at the Marriott and wanted to have my family stay as well. We live not to far from this hotel and heard it was being renovated so it was more luxurious. Well you can make anything look a bit better but the staff will make this the most horrid hotel I have ever stayed in!!! I have stayed in hotels all over Laguna and Newport, but I wanted my wedding stay and reception to be special. They did everything possible to make it as unpleasant as possible. I have never had to fight with a hotel so hard in my life just to get all the stuff they promised me on my contract! Once I signed there contract it was all over! They didn't even contact me about arrangements until one week before my wedding. I had been calling and calling but always a voice mail so after leaving many messages I got upset. I called and demanded to speak to a human about 8 days before my wedding and finally received someone. Then they said they were sorry and said it would be great from that point on....NO! There wedding staff are just pointless. They are the rudest bunch of people I have ever spoken to so finally I went down there to get a different tone in person. It was a whole different situation in person. They are a lot more responsive when they cant pawn you off on a voice mail then never call you back. My room was so yucky that we had the reception in and the food was awful! The hotel service was not much better but there was a very nice guy as the bartender who said he has seen others get treated like this a lot here at the Marriott. So please if you want a cheap room that is very, very small and expect to be treated like you are paying over $200 bucks a night then DO NOT stay here! The bed was nothing like the pictures and the room was so much different then described. I would suggest any other hotel I have stayed at around here before this one, even the cheaper ones. At least you will be getting better service!
