A great safe place for teens
I started going to New Gen. when I was about 15. It is a great place if you are a teen and need to go somewhere confidential and safe to get birth control. they can provide you with pills, condoms, and the support you need if you are a sexually active teen.

I have never had a problem getting my birth control on time. I can make an appointment and they give me 6 months of pills in advance. each appointment they sit you down with a doctor and you take a pee test just to make sure you are healthy.

the best thing is that it is fully confidential. I know that not everyone can go to a parent for help if they are sexually active, so New Gen is a great place to go if you have questions, advice, or birth control.

Best free health clinic ever been to!
I read the first review and decided to write my own. The person, who complained, must have never been to any other free health clinic. Try the city clinic in the South Market, and you will know what I'm talking about. New Generation is a clinic for youth but they don't turn you down, even if you over 20. The staff is friendly and makes you feel comfortable. Of course, you have to wait for a certain time; it's a free clinic and they are busy. Make an appointment, and it will be faster. And at least you can make an appointment in upcoming week or two; in other clinics it takes up to a month or more!! After signing up for California Health Access Program (you must have a low income but they don't check it), your birth control is free, and my perscription has 3 refills, so I don't have to go back for another year.

And the best thing is that they treat you as a person, they give you any type of consuling and answer any of your questions. They will help you if someone abused you, if you accidentally got pregnant or have any addiction. They also have youth groups, events and similar.

Highly recommended.

Inconsistent!
I have been on & off birth control for the past few years just because my prescription refills keep running out & there's never a doctor to talk to! This can't be good for my reproductive system! I'm always worried that I might get pregnant even though I take all necessary precautions just because I can never get my prescription on-time. This is very unprofessional! The front desk personnel really need to improve their customer service attitudes! The facility is clean & neat, the nursing staff is nice, & the doctors, when you can get a hold of them, are courteous. Every time I go to see a doctor, the wait time is over 15 minutes, once it was over an hour! The facility's only open Monday through Friday, & if this isn't inconvenient enough, doctors aren't there on Fridays!
