What a wonderful shop full of stitching treasures. I stumbled in while traveling and will be back often. It has a terrific group of canvases and fibers and an extremely helpful staff. They offer finishing and design work as well. It's a full-service shop. Don't miss it if you are near the Baltimore area.

This needlepoint shop is filled with all kinds of canvases from the whimsical to the very traditional. The sales people are knowlegeable and friendly without being overbearing. I visit often to take advantage of the monthly trunk shows which feature some of needlepoint's best designers....and the canvases in these trunk shows are always discounted which is an obvious plus. If you like threads, then Needles and Threads of Ruxton is the place to go. There is usually an adorable Westie in the shop and she just loves to welcome all customers. I understand the shop has a website. If you are a needlepointer, you'll enjoy visiting NEEDLES AND THREADS OF RUXTON.

I've been going to this shop for a few years now, and I've never been disappointed. Judy Greer, the owner, and her employees are extremely knowledgeable, pleasant, and helpful, and are always willing to offer guidance and suggestions for your projects. Even though the shop is small, it has a large inventory of beautiful, high-quality, and unusual painted canvases they replenish frequently. The creative needlepointer will be thrilled by the selection of threads which consists of a good representation of wools, silks, cottons, synthetics, and even bamboo and soy threads. There are overdyes and solid threads in a rainbow of colors--just beautiful. In addition, Judy and her staff are always ready with suggestions for creative finishing ideas, even purses and shoes. If you're a needlepointer within 50 miles, don't miss it. But be sure to call for the hours--they're open from 10-4 Monday through Friday, and from 10-2 on Saturdays.

Needles and Threads of Ruxton is a small shop with somewhat short hours and a focus on the traditional. They have the best quality yarns and threads and imported needlwork kits. No cheap acrylic yarn or kitschy kits! The staff is friendly and helpful. Just be sure that they're open before you make the trip! Near other interesting shopping.
