I took my girlfriend to Long Beach for an anniversary mini-vacation. We looked up restaurants in the area and found this gem. We got lost and we got stuck out in the rain with just a couple minutes until closing time. We finally found it and they took our order gladly. I've never seen such patience for last minute customers! The portions were ENORMOUS and it was hands down the best Indian food I've ever had.

I've been looking high and lo for a good indian restaurant, and I've finally found it! I can not get enough of this place. The food is so good and flavorful. This is one of the places, where I've not had a hard time getting my food spicy ...

I love how the owners greet you when you arrive, they are very happy to tell you about their food and try to make your dining experience nice.
On the weekends they have a great buffet with all the favorites and dessert too! About $12 a person, great deal if you have big eaters in the group.

The owner's wife, also one of the servers, was horribly rude. When my girlfriend was not ready to order when the woman appeared at our table, she left in a huff, and avoided our table for the next 30 minutes! Food was decent but slow to arrive (perhaps still being taught a lesson from the waitress?) but crowded conditions and nearly impossible parking made us decide Kamal Palace, in the marina, was our destination thereafter. The people THERE are quite friendly, and the food is always good.‎
