My experience with this towing and storage agency was terrible. The manager or owner of this agency is simply greedy and a lier. It is difficult to imagine that they could charge the storage fee one day earlier before my car (I could see my car on the street through the window on second floor in my apartment) was towed on Feb.15, 2009.
This is the first time that another tenant (who also lived in a second floor with window facing the street) and I witnessed police and the towing agency told lie on the police report. They should realize that giving false information on the police record is forgery and it is a crime. They may be in big trouble if they get caught.

Since I was just moving there but not show on the DMV record, they probably thought it was OK to put down false information on the police report and signed the paper. It is not easy to prove my witness because the evidence is simply on my mind. Therefore, I just let them go but have to share my experience with them on internet.

Absolutely unscrupulous business practices. My car was stolen, and then later recovered by the Menlo Park Police department. They had it towed to an impound lot by National Towing at 10:30am, I arrived less than 4 hours later, after filing the appropriate paperwork with the police department, and was presented with a $360 charge for towing and storage! The towtruck driver who arrived to release the car had a very disputatious manner, and told me that I had no recourse. I was essentially treated as a criminal. I was the victim of a crime, and then was taken advantage of by this company to boot. If you have any choice in the matter.. DO NOT deal with this company. If you are unfortunate enough to be in a situation like mine.. DO NOT take this abuse lying down, file comlaints with the police department and Better Business, as I have.

1/4/08 - Crazy storm day. My Toyota Sequoia had a flat tire and I called National Towing to come help. They couldn't find the street to begin with. It was okay and I went down and looked at the street name and gave it to them again. 45 mins later the driver shows up, parks next my Toyota for not even 2 minutes. Before I could get out of the car he starting driving off. I thought he would make a U-turn and come back but nooooo. I called the service again and they said I need to call another towing company since the driver didn't see me by my car. He didn't even stay there for more that 2 mins, didn't even get out of his truck. How could he see me. I told the receptionist that the driver had just left and I was right here waiting all this time. OH yeah and waiting with my 11 month old who was at this point getting hungry.. The receptionist (Myra) told me to just call another towing company. No apologies or anything. They left me stranded on this crazy street...after waiting for them to come for almost 2 hours. They must not care about their customers at all. You just can't park your tow truck for few minutes and assume the driver is not there and not come to help.
I called A's Towing and the receptionist was super nice. They even asked me if I was safe and if my baby was okay. They driver was there and helped us out so that we could get home safely. And they were about 20 bucks cheaper. Forget about the money...they were very understanding and called so many times to ask if we were okay. I would really recomment them if you ever need towing and you get stuck around East Palo Alto.
National Towing is just crazy about money...that's all they care about.
