Great atmosphere as you walk into Nakato. Huge reef tank. Great bar/lounge area with TV's. Sushi bar/area is the best in town. Head Sushi Chef Marcus is fresh & innovative. He is always coming out with new kinds of sushi specials. Sushi Chef Brian is always attentive & makes great sushi. I have literally have tried sushi all over Charleston. Wasabi downtown is great too but very expensive. But Nakato is own by the brother of the owner of Wasabi. Its less expensive than downtown, plenty of parking, plenty of space to host & 1# Sushi in chucktown!

You might be surprised to find a great sushi place in the West Ashley area, but Nakato's fits the bill. The environment is the sushi bar is very pleasant (separate from the main hibachi area). Very fresh and yummy. The owners are very nice people, too.‎
