Nagato never disappoints! Their tempura is fantastic, gyoza always perfectly cooked, and the sushi is amazing!! I have been visiting Nagato with family and friends for the past 15 years and am always quick to recommend going there with new people. This is a down home family restaurant, so expect the service to match! Very personable, but not overly attentive (and sometimes a bit slow, but that what you get when the 80 or so year old matriarch is serving you!). I recommend Nagato over even the highest end restaurants in Sacramento!‎

This place is family owned and run. One of the first Japanese restaurants in Sacramento, you will not find another place with better food. I have never had anything I didn't like... I used to eat meat and loved all of the selections, now as a strict vegetarian I am able to continue eating there with tons of options to keep my happy. Most of their soups are made with vegetable broth, I adore their vegetable udon soup and their serving size is very generous. The place is smaller in size, it feels like home. Don, the sushi guy is always friendly and is always more than happy to help you choose something you'll enjoy if you are new to sushi... but they have so many choices, even your "non-sushi" loving friends will enjoy. Moderately priced. The service is usually good, but can sometimes be slow at times. If you are in more of a hurry, try sitting at the sushi bar.‎
