The teacher initially told me that my son's first day attending alone went 'fine' and then almost a week later told me there had been 6 'incident's' involving him that included one episode of throwing sand and 5 knocking things over. She said if it did not improve he would need an educational consultant. She told me this at the beginning of our 3rd day there so I had no time to prepare myself or my son for the day going differently, and I was really upset and saddened that I was so misled about his first time alone. Although I don't approve of his behavior and would like it to improve (hence sending him to school to improve his social skills and learn more impulse control) it was hardly atypical or abnormal for a 3 year old. That the teacher didn't know he had behaved this way and then had no interest or suggestions for improving his behavior made me feel like this is not the place for us.
