Obama story
I saw a picture in the window of Mrs. Dewson with Obama, so I asked about it, and she looks at me all rude, and says “I don’t wanna talk about Obama.”
She claims she’s known Obama for “over 30 years”. Oh? You knew him back when he was in high school in Hawaii? Your story’s not checking out there, but nice try, biotch.

Mrs. Dewson is no lady!
My husband is the superintendent building a store next to Mrs. Dewson's hat shop in S.F. on Fillmore street. He has never spoken to Mrs. Dewson. She has never spoken to him. He has many different people working for him on this job site. All of them are union subcontractors & employees.

One laborer in particular has truly impressed my husband. He is a hard worker & has told my husband his life story. My husband really likes the man. My husband is Caucasian & this employee happens to be African-American.

Today, the day after Obama was elected President, Mrs. Dewson had some colorful language for my husband & this man. My husband was standing in front of the construction/store site instructing his employee on what he would like for him to do. (My husband is never rude to his employees & treats everyone fairly. In fact, one day this particular laborer told my husband that it was a pleasure to work for him. Sadly another day my husband came home flabber gasted because this same hard working nice man started yelling at him. My husband asked him to leave. The man came back the next day asking my husband for his job back. He apologized & said that he had to "go get right with Jesus". My husband took this man back on the job.) Mrs. Dewson approached the two of them as she opened her store for business this a.m. She said (directed to the black man), "You don't have to work for this M***er F**ker anymore!" She continued to rant & rave about how things are going to change with a black president.

My husband was horrified. He could not believe what he heard. I am so angry with this woman. Who does she think she is? She is no lady & certainly not a Christian! Would she think it acceptable for me or my husband to curse at her? Would she sell us a hat even though we are white? She is a horrible person & completely misguided if she thinks that racism is acceptable.

Please do not shop Mrs. Dewson's Hats! She is confrontational & hostile.

Mrs. Dewson is a racist by Bonnie B. at InsiderPages
My husband is finishing up the Ralph Lauren Country Store opening next to Mrs. Dewson's hat shop. He has never spoken to Mrs. Dewson. She has never spoken to him, until today. He is the superintendent on the job site and happens to be a Caucasian. He has many different types of folks working for him. They are all union employees, including his laborers. He has spoken very highly of one laborer, who happens to be a black man. My husband & this man get along quite well. My husband thinks he is a hard worker & does a great job.

Today, the day after Barack Hussein Obama was elected president of the United States, Mrs. Dewson had some colorful & insulting words for my husband & his employee. My husband was standing on the sidewalk in front of the Ralph store with his employee & instructing him on the task at hand. Mrs. Dewson walked up to them & said (directed at the black man), You don't have to work for this M#$%er F@#!er anymore. She continued to rant on and on about a black man being president & how things were going to change. She also raged on about how she has owned her hat shop for 20 years.

Again, my husband has never spoken to Mrs. Dewson. Why would she be so mean, angry, insulting, rude, racist & I would say, a little bit nuts to think that her behavior is acceptable on any level? Shame on you Mrs. Dewson. You are certainly not an upstanding business woman though I am certain that you think you are.

Please do not shop Mrs. Dewson's Hats. She is a racist. I certainly hope that she doesn't consider herself a Christian. Would she call my husband names if he wanted to spend money in her shop? Hmmmm?

generous by M H. at InsiderPages
Cute place with lovely hats. The lady/owner gave my daughter a hat and I thought that was really nice of her to do and totally unexpected. The hat was $40 but my daughter liked it so much and she looked so adorable in it. I would definitely go back to buy one??????. One day!

Extremely unpleasant!
Mrs. Dewson is rude and unpleasant. Upon entering the store she does not welcome or provide any useful assistance. In addition to the rude service she does not welcome potential customers to try on hats. In my opinion I would not purchase anything from this store solely based on the horrible service. I'm amazed she is even able to stay in business.
