I went to this school when I was young - from 2nd grade to 6th. Not only am I still friends with the kids I met there (my best friend is the same one form second grade, and I regularly keep in touch with 4 other guys from the school), but the education I received carried me well through Junior year of high school. I remember one day Junior year in PreCalculus sitting and being taught trigonometry and realizing that I was doing that in 6th grade at Maria Montessori, just on a more visual, tangible level.

This education has made me who I am today and is why I feel I have been successful so far. I am currently a Sophomore at Washington University in St. Louis in their Art and Architecture school studying design.

If you are familiar with montessori education, you will be thrilled with this school. I am a teacher at a regular education, but I have done a lot of work with montessori schools... The Montessori School House in Clairemont is top notch. They have programs for small children, starting at age three... and go on though elementary. I've observed at this school and plan to send my daughter here when she is at the appropriate age. They really strive to follow the child's sense of curiosity and learning pattern. The child moves at his or her own pace. The children learn from experiences, hands-on... which is not always the case in public schools. I was very impressed when I observed the classes here ... the children were treated very respectfully and you really see a difference in their behavior... The children not only learn reading and math, etc..., but theylearn real life strategies... taking care of themselves, their environment.... it's simply amazing... if you are interested in this type of education... you really need to stop by for a visit.... you'll be as impressed as I am!
