So where to begin?! Montclair Veterinary is just great. They have the best vet Dr. Gary Richter and the staff is wonderful. Everybody is so patient and caring. I was even reading in Oakland magazine that they were rated Best Vet in the East Bay and the event that they sponsor (Montclair Pet Mayor Race) with the Pet & Wildlife Fund got Best non-profit event in the east bay. Anyways I and many of my colleagues and friends would recommend Montclair Vet Hospital.

I am a life long pet owner and have had my share of experiences with veterinarians and veterinary hospitals. I recently moved to the East Bay and had an emergency with my dog on a Tuesday evening. When I called Montclair Veterinary Hospital, it was 7:30 (they are open until 8:00). They told me to come right down so the doctor could evaulate my dog. Not only did the staff and doctor not give me grief about being there so late in the day, they stayed late in order to make sure my dog was going to be OK! I can't explain how impressed I was with the loving way my pet was treated.
In addition to excellent care, the reception staff was incredibly friendly and helpful both on the phone and in person. Even after closing time, the receptionist was friendly and conversational. She did not just leave me in the waiting room to sit and worry.
As if this was not enough, the following day I received a telephone call checking in to make sure my dog was OK. I was speechless! In all my years of pet ownership, I have never received a follow-up call the next day.
I cannot give Montclair Veterinary Hospital a strong enough recommendation. I would recommend them to anyone who wants the best for their pet!

My kitty is MY BABY and I want the best for her. LITTLE GIRL is one of my best friends and when we moved to Oakland, I wanted what was best. She needed to go in for her annual check up, plus I wanted to get her micro chipped because she is an outside wanderer. When I came in the women at the front desk instantly fell in love with her. Everyone wanted to hold Little Girl while I filled out my forms. We were seen quickly by Dr. Richter, who owns the practice. He was down to earth, a vegitarian and very funny. After Little Girl was seen and it was time to paay my bill, I was happy to do so and Little Girl and I left with huge smiles. Do yourself a favor and go to this hospital!

Montclair Veterinary Hospital has been helping pets and wildlife in the East Bay since 1962. The vets and staff at the hospital are very caring and they do a terrific job of helping each person and pet that visits.

I went to Montclair Veterinary Hospital after having a bad experience at another veterinary office. My experience at Montclair could not have been more positive. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. I was seen on time for my appointment and the veterinarian took the time to talk to me and explain what was wrong with my pet. I was very satisfied with my experience and will definitely go back.
