After a few experiences at sleazy laundros with transients, tattered washers and bleach-laden folding tables (Ugh!) I discovered Monaco. It's clean, well-lit, and reasonably priced. They recently upped the prices on the machines ($2.00 for a front-load wash and $4.25 for the quad loaders with others in between). For those of us without on-site laundry efficiency is key. You can do a few weeks worth of laundry in one of those quad loaders. Against my better judgement I'm giving up neighborhood secrets here: The best things here are the 2 late-model GIANT dryers. They cost twice what a regular dryer does, but will dry *8* loads of laundry at a time. For a lazy man who hates doing laundro this is a dream come true. <br />
I shouldn't leave out the plethora of new and old magazines left out for reading material as well as the racks of City Beat and the Reader outside. There are some nice tables outside, and you can usually pickup a free wi-fi signal from here or inside. Ideally located next door is Jug Liquor and 7-11 for tasty treats and refreshments while you wait; And Latitude 32 is a 1/2 block up Cass. <br />
I like the fact that employees and or the owner regularly come by, and if you have a problem they will take care of you. It makes me feel more secure about the safety of my laundry here. It might sound weird, but you think about this kind of stuff when you wash ALL your clothes at once, i.e. what a pain and expense it would be if your stuff got jacked. Enjoy Monaco, and stay away from the place kitty corner to it with the janky machines.
