In 2008, Soheila Guignard opened her first clothing and accessory boutique in the East Village community of San Diego. Guignard has an extensive background in fashion and design. After an education of design study in Denmark she went on to become a designer and a buyer for a popular German fashion company. Once in the states, Guignard learned the importance of customer satisfaction at New York City™s Saks 5th Avenue. Upon moving to San Diego she transferred to the same company and became dissatisfied with her co workers poor customer service performance. She then went on to three other upscale department stores with the same frustrations as before.

After a long walk around downtown she came across a beautiful historic building and decided that would be the perfect location for her own boutique. The word Mona means ˜wish in Arabic and after many sacrifices and challenges Guignard™s, wish became reality.

Most of her customers are now friends and have her personal number to call at anytime concerning anything fashion related. Services range from alterations, tailoring, drop off cleaning, plus sizes and even massage therapy. The back area has a tranquil private room where her two Holistic Health Practitioners share the space for many different modalities of massage.

Guignard is so committed to pleasing all of her customers needs; she works seven days a week. Last year her clients demanded she take her birthday and Mothers day off, she reluctantly did but is unsure about taking those days off this year.

Once a month, Mona Lisa hosts a fashion show with the latest trends supplied to Guignard from her loyal suppliers from all over the world. The event also features local artists and bands. Customers are welcome to use the complimentary wi-fi and hot tea that is available during business hours. Mona Lisa Boutique is more than a clothing store, it is Soheilas wish and an enjoyable place to hang out.
